The annual VFW Day of Service is scheduled for Saturday, May 6. The VFW District 4 Riders will be working with the Detroit / Hamtramck community in building raised garden beds for the local community garden. These gardens are not only used by residents to grow fresh vegetables but are also an educational site for local school children to learn how to plant, grow, and harvest various vegetables.
The CWA / MASCH Interfaith Community Healing Garden is located at 5656 Harold Street on the Detroit / Hamtramck border. Chaplain Gasaway is a former Vice President and Board Member of Common Word Alliance (CWA) and has worked with them for over a decade on various projects.
We invite all VFW posts, members, and their families to join us on May 6 at 10:00 am. If you are unable to join us, please consider a donation.
