Amtrak offers Veteran, military member discounts

Veterans can enjoy a 10% savings on rail fares across the entire Amtrak network. Enjoy onboard amenities such as a Café Car, WiFi, power outlets and spacious seating for a comfortable ride on your next trip.
To take advantage of this offer, select "Military Veteran" as your traveler type on the booking widget online. The 10% discount will automatically apply to fares when qualifying travel is selected.

Smoke Free Vet Doug
Overwhelming evidence shows smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke create significant medical risks. 
As of October 1, 2019, all VA campuses are smoke free.
Veterans who want to quit smoking have resources available through VA, including SmokefreeVET, a text messaging program that provides 24/7 support to help Veterans quit tobacco for good.

Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief's Tribute to America's Warriors, painted by another Veteran, President George W. Bush are on display at the Kennedy Center through Nov. 15, 2019. 
The collection highlights 98 post-9/11 Veterans painted by the former president, himself an Air Force Veteran.
There's also a free mobile app to view the art work.
