District 4 VFW Riders Passport


  1. Passport Overview
    1. To get VFW Riders to visit other Posts and spread our identity, the VFW Riders Passport Program will start to encourage VFW Riders to visit other VFW Posts. All that is needed is a motorcycle, a VFW Riders vest or jacket with the Riders patch, and a Riders passport (aka small notepad). 
  2. Rules
    1. The District 4 riders are provided a passport-type notebook to record their visits to other VFW Posts. 
    2. The Rider enters the date and Post number and has a member of the visiting Post initial the entry. At the end of the contest period, the Post Rider with the most Post visits will receive an award. 
    3. The Riders must be on motorcycles from April 1st through October 1st and wearing a VFW Riders vest or jacket. Only one visit to the Post will be counted for awards.
    4. During the non-motorcycle season: January - March and November - December - Visits to Posts are scored using a car for transportation and wearing a Riders vest.
    5. The members' home Post is acceptable to record a visit while wearing a Riders vest.
    6. The monthly meeting Post is not acceptable to record the visit at the meeting time.
  3. Timeframe
    1. The contest period is from January 1st through December 31st.

Riders Passport Competition

Proposal: Implement a competitive competition within the D4 Riders Passport Program.

End of contest period: The winner will receive $50. The competition will end at the close of November with a drawing at the December Riders meeting.

Competition Rules:
  1. The District 4 riders are provided a passport-type notebook to record their visits to other VFW Posts. 
  2. The Rider enters the date and Post number and has a member of the visiting Post initial the entry. The VFW Rider must record the visit in the Passport tracking system accessed in the Riders Blog. 
  3. The Rider will receive one raffle ticket for their first Post-visit and then a ticket for every two visits during the contest season. The Riders Webmaster will calculate the Riders total season raffle tickets using the Passport visit log. If the calculation of the Riders’ extra visits results in a decimal number, the number will be rounded down to calculate raffle tickets.
  4. The raffle will occur at the Rider's December meeting, and the money will be awarded.
  5. The winner would be presented the coveted District 4 VFW Riders Travel Trophy (Plaque) and have it until the next awards presentation.

  • How are Riders' visits recorded?
    • The visits must be recorded in the Passport form accessed in the Riders Blog. 
  • Can out-of-State Posts be counted in the competition?
    • Out-of-State Posts can be recorded, and the Post name, Post number, and State must be provided to the Webmaster.
