WWII 101 year Birthday Party
WWII Veteran 101 Birthday Party
Members of our Riders Group had the honor of celebrating the 101st birthday of Frank Wojar, a distinguished WWII veteran residing at Northville Brookdale Assisted Living. The atmosphere was filled with joy and camaraderie as we presented Frank with a heartfelt birthday card and a generous donation to enhance his special day. Known for his love of cigars, Frank was genuinely touched by our gesture and warmly thanked the VFW Riders for allowing him to indulge in more of his favorite cigars. The event was a wonderful reminder of the impact we can have on the lives of our cherished veterans.

Phase 2 Dedication
Tuesday, November 11, 2025
1:00 PM
The Michigan WWII
Legacy Memorial
Memorial Park, Royal Oak
Mark your calendars and join us for this very special Phase 2 Dedication. The event will include a short program, including the American Rosie the Riveter Honor Rosies, who will be carrying banners of WWII Rosies. Many of these Honor Rosies are descendents of original Rosies.
The Phase 2 expansion includes a new section to the Walk of Honor, which includes 130 inscribed pavers and space for additional pavers, as well as unveiling our Rosie the Riveter life-size bronze statue. The face of the sculpture bears the likeness of Original Rosie Frances "Fran" Mauro Masters, who was a riveter at the Ford Willow Run Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti.
We especially want to invite our original Rosies and WWII veterans, as we will recognize our heroes at the event.
In order to help us plan for the event, we ask that you RSVP. Just click on the button to let us know you will be joining us!

Book of the Month
I Would Do It Again
Rosie Frances Mauro Masters
Frances Mauro Masters is an original Rosie the Riveter living in Michigan during WWII. She went to work on the assembly line at the Willow Run Plant making B-24 Liberator bombers. She worked there for the duration of the war. Fran said if there was anything she could do to help the people of Ukraine now, she would do it, just as she helped her fellow Americans during the war. Young author Bailey Minto had the amazing experience of meeting Fran and hearing her story in person. She wrote and illustrated this important story for young readers. (book review from Amazon)
